Carlton Rose is a poet from Wolverhampton who lives in Manchester. He won New Writing North’s Northern Debut Award for Poetry in 2026. Carlton’s work has appeared in The Poetry Review, Poetry Wales, Magma, Ambit, Under the Radar and various other publications.

In 2024, Carlton was commissioned by Whitworth Art Gallery and Manchester Poetry Library to respond to the first major survey exhibition of poet and artist John Lyons.

Carlton has recently been working on debut work which explores fatherhood, teaching, physics, religion and climate change.
